Re-Imagining UVA Alerts: A "LiveSafe" Demo with UPD

The majority of UVA students, faculty, and staff receive UVA Alerts. The purpose of the UVA Alerts system is to "notify registered users via text message when the University population faces imminent threat from a hazard."

The University Police Department and Office for Safety and Emergency Preparedness continue to evaluate the efficacy of UVA Alerts in ensuring the safety of the UVA community. Currently, they are exploring potential implementation of the LiveSafe mobile safety communications platform, which could replace current methods of distributing emergency information.

Join them as they host a LiveSafe representative for a live demo of this product. An open Q&A portion will follow the demo to allow for student feedback.

This event is co-sponsored by the Minority Rights Coalition, Student Council Safety & Wellness Committee, and Honor Committee.
